Ads Manager allows you to create custom ads in PSAI and launch them directly on Facebook, without having to ever leave PSAI. To be able to launch ads, though, you must first set up a connection between your company's PSAI account and your Facebook Business Page.
This Facebook Connection only has to be set up one time. Please note that in order to connect your Facebook Business Page, you must be the page owner, not simply an admin. Admins can launch campaigns after set-up, but the initial connection must be done by the page owner.
For a guided walk-through of the entire process, check out our Ads Manager guided tour. This tour will take you through each required step, including the Facebook Connection process described below.
1. Go to Company Settings
Navigate to your company settings by clicking Account in the lower left corner and then clicking "Settings." (If you're using the Ads Manager guided tour, you will be automatically navigated here.)
2. Scroll Down to "Your Facebook Connection"
On your company's setting page, scroll down toward the bottom until you see "Your Facebook Connection." Then click the button for "Login to Facebook."
3. Login to Your Personal Facebook Account
When you click "Login to Facebook," a pop-up will appear, prompting you to login to a personal Facebook account.
To successfully set up your Facebook Connection, you must log in from whichever personal Facebook account is the owner of the page.
If you're currently logged into Facebook from this internet browser, then PSAI will automatically detect that and prompt you to continue as that account.
Facebook works on the browser level, meaning that you will be automatically suggested whichever account is currently logged in from the browser you're using. If you don't see the account you want, get instructions on logging into the correct personal Facebook account here.
4. Grant Access to PSAI
Click the continue button on the next screen to approve PSAI's connection to your Facebook account. (These permissions are what allow us to create ads and post them on behalf of your company's Facebook Business Page.)
To confirm this selection, click "OK" on the next screen.
5. Verify Your Account
On the next screen, click "Verify Your Account" at the top of the pop-up.
This button will open your Facebook account in a new tab of your browser. Here you will be guided through a series of three screens for your review and approval.
Click "Continue" on the first screen.
Click "Continue" on the second screen.
Click "Accept Invitation" on the third screen.
Now return to the tab where PSAI is open. Now that you've completed the Facebook verification process, the button for "I've Verified" will turn blue, indicating that it is active. Click "I've Verified" to continue.
6. Accept Terms & Agreement
Like the previous step, this one involves moving through a series of screens in Facebook and then returning to PSAI.
Start by clicking "Accept Terms & Agreement" at the top of the screen.
This will open Facebook's terms and conditions in a new tab of your internet browser. Review these terms and then click "Accept."
Now return to the tab where PSAI is open. Now that you've accepted Facebook's terms and conditions, the button for "I've Accepted" will turn blue, indicating that it is active. Click "I've Accepted" to continue.
7. Add Facebook Billing
Like the previous steps, this one involves moving through a series of screens in Facebook and then returning to PSAI.
If you already have an active and valid credit card on file with Facebook, then this step will be skipped. After finishing the set-up process, you can check your payment method directly through Facebook or through our instructions on updating your Facebook billing method.
First click the button for "Update Your Payment." (Why do you have to add a credit card to Facebook? It's because your Facebook ad spend is directly billed by Facebook; PSAI does not charge you any additional costs or fees.)
This will open a new tab in your browser for your Payment Settings page on Facebook. On this page, click "Add Payment Method."
Enter your credit or debit card information and click "Save."
You'll get a confirmation screen that says "Success." Click "Done" to close the pop-up.
Now return to the tab where PSAI is open. Now that you've added a credit card in Facebook, the button for "I've Added Billing" will turn blue, indicating that it is active. Click "I've Added Billing" to continue.
8. Choose Your Facebook Business Page
In the drop-down menu, choose your Facebook Business Page.
If you only have one Facebook Business Page connected to your personal account, then you'll only see one option. If you manage several Facebook Business Pages, then please click the arrow to see them all, taking care to select the correct one.
If you do not see your Facebook Business Page here, check out this troubleshooting article on why your Facebook Business Page is not showing up.
9. Accept Facebook Ad Lead Terms & Conditions
Like the steps for verifying your account and adding billing, this step involves moving through a series of screens in Facebook and then returning to PSAI.
First click "Accept Lead Ad Terms & Agreement."
This will open a new tab in your browser for "Lead Ad Terms." Review Facebook's terms here and then click "Accept" at the top.
Now return to the browser tab where PSAI is open. Now that you've accepted Facebook's lead ad terms, the button at the bottom will turn blue to indicate that it is active. Click "I've Accepted" to continue.
Now you're finished! You'll see the following confirmation screen when you've completed the Facebook Connection process.
