The PSAI Weather map will display tornado warnings for up to 5 days, or if a tornado path has been determined and is available to replace the warning. These warnings are shown on the county-level, highlighted in red within the Weather map, as shown below:

If a tornado warning is in your area, it will also display in the Weather Outlook section of your main Weather dashboard.

Why Did the Tornado Warning Disappear?

Tornado warnings are not official reports of a confirmed tornado in the area. In order to determine if a tornado touched down, its path, and its intensity, ground surveys must be completed by the National Weather Service.

Once an official survey has been conducted, and if a tornado path is available, the warning in Weather will be replaced with a tornado path swath, similar to the below:

If no tornado was confirmed after the survey was complete, the warning will simply be removed from the map, and you will still be able to view wind and/or hail swaths associated with the storm.
