Facebook Ad Best Practices for Image Size and Text

When creating Facebook ads in PSAI, it's important to keep in mind the recommended design specifications set by Facebook. This will ensure that your ad looks good to Facebook users without cutting off essential information.

Our AI Recommended ads already incorporate these best practices, but if you're creating your ad own from scratch or are customizing our suggested creative, please follow the guidelines below (adapted from Facebook's Help Desk).

Image Size

Facebook recommends uploading a JPG or PNG file with the following details:

  • Resolution of at least 1080x1080 pixels
  • Ratio between 1.91:1 and 1:1
  • Minimum width of 600 pixels
  • Minimum height of 600 pixels
  • Maximum file size of 30MB

Please note that on the Ad Design page within PSAI, we also provide recommended minimums for images, which vary depending on the type of ad you're creating.

A before-and-after ad, for example, offers the following minimum recommendation for each one of the two images.

Ad Text

Facebook recommends the following character limits. Longer entries are allowed, but text may be truncated beyond these limits:

  • Headline text: 40 characters
  • Description text: 30 characters
  • Primary text: 125 characters
