This article is part of a series on creating and using marketing sources:
- Introduction: What Is a Marketing Source in PSAI?
- Step 1: Create a New Marketing Source/App
- Step 2: Customize the Display Type of Your App
- Step 3: Customize the Design of Your App
- Step 4: Add the Marketing Source to Your Website
- Step 5: Interact with Leads in the Com Portal
After you've created your new marketing source, you can customize where and how it will appear on your website. The placement, or "Display Type," options will vary depending on which of the 5 marketing sources/apps you are customizing. Follow the instructions below.
To access the Customization tab for any app, you'll first have to create and save your new marketing source. Not sure how to create a new marketing source? Please go back to Step 1.
1. Go to the "Manage" Tab in Your PSAI Admin
First navigate to the "Manager" tab at the left-hand side of your PSAI admin portal. Then find the specific app you want to customize and click the "Edit" button.
2. Click on the "Customize" Tab
When the app's panel pops up, click the tab for "Customize" at the top. All of the customization options for that specific app will be located here on this screen.
3. Look at "Display Type" at the Top
To customize how your app appears on your website, you need to look at the section titled "Display Type" at the top of the Customize tab.
Every PSAI app comes with a default Display Type. If you've just created your new marketing source and are looking at the Customize tab for the very first time, then you'll see the default chosen here.
You do not have to change the default Display Type if you don't want to. Our default options are not random but have been chosen based on lead conversion best practices.
If you do want to change your Display Type, then simply click the Display Type you want to change to. The blue check will move to your newly selected Display Type, and the App Event Steps panel below may change slightly according to your new selection.
Not sure what the three Display Types look like? View examples and explanations here.
Keep in mind that not every single marketing source will offer all three of these possible Display Types. Don't worry, though! You will only be shown the options that work for the specific app that you are customizing.
4. Use the "Preview" Feature to Test out Display Types
You can click the "Preview" button (shown in the screenshot below) to see how your edits look as you make them. If you still aren't sure what the three Display Types really mean, it's easy to see for yourself.
Simply choose one Display Type and click "Preview." Then try another Display Type and click "Preview" again.
5. Save Your Changes
Once you've made changes, the system will automatically detect them and prompt you to either "Undo Changes" or "Save Changes" in the top right corner of the screen.
If you've viewed the preview of your app and are pleased with your changes to its Display Type, click "Save Changes."
Now that you've chosen the Display Type for your app, you can customize it even further using the next section of the Customize tab: the "App Event Steps" section. Head to the next article of the series to learn how this section works.
