This article is part of a series on creating and using marketing sources:
- Introduction: What Is a Marketing Source in PSAI?
- Step 1: Create a New Marketing Source/App
- Step 2: Customize the Display Type of Your App
- Step 3: Customize the Design of Your App
- Step 4: Add the Marketing Source to Your Website
- Step 5: Interact with Leads in the Com Portal
Creating a new marketing source is the first step toward using that source to generate leads. Follow the instructions below to add a new Quote Form, Weather widget, Chat, SMS number, or Facebook Business Chat.
1. Go to the "Manage" Tab in Your PSAI Admin
Log into your PSAI admin and click "Manage" from the left-hand toolbar. This will bring up your Sources Manager, where you can quickly review and edit all of the marketing sources you have previously set up. (If you're just starting out, you won't see anything here yet.)
2. Click the Plus (+) to Add a New Source
In the upper right-hand corner, click the blue plus sign (+) button. This will bring up a new panel to create your new Marketing Source and choose its settings.
3. Choose your Marketing Source's Settings
After clicking the plus sign (+), you'll be brought to the Settings panel, as shown below.
To create your marketing source, you'll need to fill out the following information within this panel.
Name
Give a custom name to your marketing source.
Be specific so that you can remember later which app does what. As you use PSAI, you'll add more and more marketing sources to this page, so clear naming conventions from the very beginning can help keep you and your entire team organized.
Allowed Website URLs
Add the URL of the websites where this marketing source will appear. This would usually include your company's main website, plus any other sister sites or other marketing sites you use. If you are adding multiple URLs, separate them with commas.
Instead of typing the URL manually, open a new browser tab and navigate to the desired website. Then copy the URL directly from the browser's address bar to make sure that the entire URL is completely correct (including any http:// or https:// or www.).
Email Notifications
Add all email addresses that you would like to be notified whenever a lead is submitted. You can add as many email addresses as you like, separated by commas.
Keep in mind that each marketing app has its own set of notified email addresses. This makes it very easy to put the right lead submissions in front of the right people. For instance, maybe all appointment request leads should go to your office appointment scheduler first, or maybe a certain type of lead should go to sales and another type of lead should go to support. You can set your email notifications based on your business operations and staff roles.
You can change your lead notifications any time from this same Settings panel.
SMS Notifications
Add up to 3 cell phone numbers to receive automatic SMS notifications whenever a lead is submitted. Again, you can assign your SMS notifications to the team members who are most equipped to handle that specific lead from that specific marketing source.

Additional Setting for SMS Marketing Source
If you're creating an SMS number as your marketing source, an additional field will automatically populate, called "Search Preferred Area Code."
This field allows you to search for a phone number that's local to your area. Choosing a local phone number will make leads feel more comfortable using the number to text you.
Very high-volume geographic areas may not have any phone numbers available with that area code. If no numbers are found, try searching another local area code.
4. Save Your Marketing Source
Once you've entered your settings, click the "Save" button to complete the process. Your new marketing source will now appear from your Source Manager overview page.
That's it! Your new marketing source has been created, and now it can be customized and added to your website.
If you want to create multiple marketing sources, simply follow the steps above for each one. Remember that you can have multiple marketing sources on a single website, even of the same type. The total limit is based on your PSAI subscription level.
