Through your PSAI admin portal, you can easily change your Chat app's placement, automated greeting, color scheme, and more. You can make these edits at any time—both when creating a new Chat app as well as any time later if you decide that you'd like a different button color, logo, etc.
Simply follow the steps below to customize your GIA Chat app.
In order to follow the instructions in this article, you'll need to first create and save your Chat app as a new site conversion tool. If you haven't done this yet, learn how to create a new site tool here.
1. Go to "Site Tools"
Open the Site Conversion Tools page by clicking "Site Tools" from the left-hand toolbar.
2. Find the Chat App and Click "Edit"
Scroll through the site tools on this page until you find the one you're looking for.
For faster searching, click the "Chat" filter or type into the search bar at the top of the page.
If you prefer to scroll through your list of site tools, keep in mind that you can easily identify Chat apps at a glance by looking for the green square with a white speech bubble icon inside.
Once you've located the app, click the button for "Edit."
3. Click into the "Customize" Tab
After you click on your desired Chat app, you'll be brought to the screen shown below. At the top, click "Customize" to enter the customization tab.
4. Make Your Chat App Edits
Clicking "Customize" will bring you to the tab shown below, where you'll be able to make all the changes that you want to your Chat app.
As shown in the screenshot above, these customizations fall into two main categories:
- Display Type: Click to choose how your Chat will display on your website: either as a floating widget or as an "auto popup."
- App Event Steps: Click any pencil icon to edit that panel of your Chat app, including the button colors, the logo, and more.

5. Save Your Changes
When you are satisfied with how your Chat app looks, click the "Save Changes" button in the upper right-hand corner. (This button automatically appears whenever the system detects that changes have been made.)
That's it! Your changes will be reflected on your live Chat app immediately, and you can edit your Chat app at any time in the future by following the instructions above.
