The Weather Map can be accessed through clicking the View Map button in the header of the Weather dashboard or by clicking into an individual storm listed in Most Recent National Storms.

- Locate Me—arrow in upper-right corner of the map zooms the map into the location of the user.
- Legend—legend on the right-hand side of the map shows a range of hail size.
- Satellite/Map—clicking this button toggles between a political map view and a satellite view of the United States.
- Zoom—the bottom-left corner of the map has +/- buttons for zooming in and out of the map
Searching for a Storm
The first step in searching for a storm is zeroing in on an area for research. This can be done in a couple different ways.
Pick a Storm Date
Clicking the Pick a Storm Date button in the upper left corner of the map displays a list of storms nationwide--filtered by the filter settings at the top of the search.

You can view storms by the following parameters:
- Hail Size
- Storms by City
- Storms Nationwide
- Date Range
Clicking the Past and Today tabs at the top of the display filters between past storms and storms that have occurred across the country today.

Search
Clicking into the Search feature in the upper-left corner of the map allows you to search by address. Searches that have been saved as Favorite Areas will display below the search bar.
Clicking Weather Dashboard will return you to the main Weather display.

Enter the address or click a suggested address to be zoomed to the area—then click View Storm Dates Here. This opens a prompt asking if you want to save this search to Favorites and view storm dates, or if you just want to view storm dates.

Clicking through to view the dates of the storm shows a list on the left side of the map of all storms that have hit the area since the date shown at the top of the display.

These storms can be further filtered by Past or Today tabs at the top of the display, as well as by the filtering options for hail size, location, and date range.

Clicking into an individual storm on the list will zoom the map to the filters that show the swaths associated with that specific storm.

Add to Favorites
In addition to searching for an address, storms in a specific location can be seen in a custom zone by clicking the +Add button in the search feature of the map.

When clicked, a menu for drawing a custom search area will appear in the upper-right of the map.

Selecting the Start Shape button allows the user to draw a zone on the map. Multiple zones can be drawn in the same search. When finished, select Done from the menu. Options for Delete Shape and Cancel are also available.
After drawing the desired zones on the map and clicking Done, a popup will appear that allows you to Save to Favorites. You can choose to name the search and save to the Favorite Areas section, or just view the dates.,
