How to Set Up Your Facebook Connection

Ads Manager allows you to create custom ads in PSAI and launch them directly on Facebook. To be able to launch ads, though, you must first set up a connection between your company's PSAI account and your Facebook Business Page.

This Facebook Connection only has to be set up one time, but in order to do so, you must be the page owner of your Facebook Business Page, not simply an admin. Admins can launch campaigns after set-up, but the initial connection must be done by the page owner. (Learn how to check if your Business Page has an owner.)

For a guided walk-through of the entire process, check out our Ads Manager guided tour. This tour will take you through each required step, including the Facebook Connection process described below.

1. Go to Company Settings

Navigate to your company settings by clicking Account in the lower left corner. (If you're using the Ads Manager guided tour, you will be automatically navigated here.)

2. Go to Facebook Connection

On your Company Settings page, find the field for Your Facebook Connection. Click the button to log into Facebook.

3. Login to Your Personal Facebook Account

Next you will be prompted to login to a personal Facebook account.

If you're currently logged into Facebook from this internet browser, then PSAI will automatically detect that and prompt you to continue as that account. If this is not the correct account, click the link to open Facebook and log out.

To set up your Facebook Connection, you must log in from a personal Facebook account that is the owner of the Facebook Business Page. (Here's how to check if your Business Page has an owner.)

4. Grant Access to PSAI

Approve PSAI's connection to your Facebook account by clicking Continue as [Your Name].

Then click Continue on the next screen. (These permissions are what allow us to create ads and post them from your company's Facebook Business Page.)

5. Check Your Email to Accept the Business Manager Invite

On the next screen, you'll be prompted to check your email to accept PSAI's Business Manager invitation. Go to your email in another tab of your browser, open the invitation email from Facebook, and click Get Started.

Follow the instructions provided by Facebook. When the process is complete, come back to PSAI and click I've Verified to continue.

6. Accept Terms & Agreement

Next you'll be guided through a series of screens in Facebook to accept the platform's advertising policies. Start by clicking Accept Terms & Agreement at the top of the screen.

This will open Facebook's terms and conditions in a new tab of your internet browser. Review these terms and then click Accept.

Now return to the tab where PSAI is open. Now that you've accepted Facebook's terms and conditions, the button for "I've Accepted" will turn blue, indicating that it is active.

7. Add Facebook Billing

Like the previous steps, this one involves moving through a series of screens in Facebook and then returning to PSAI.

If you already have an active and valid credit card on file with Facebook, then this step will be skipped. After finishing the set-up process, you can check your payment method directly through Facebook or through our instructions on updating your Facebook billing method.

First click the button for Update Your Payment. (Why do you have to add a credit card to Facebook? It's because your Facebook ad spend is directly billed by Facebook; PSAI does not charge any additional fees.)

This will open a new tab in your browser for your Payment Settings page on Facebook. On this page, click Add Payment Method.

In the dropdown menu, choose your Facebook Business Page.

If you only have one Facebook Business Page connected to your personal account, then you'll only see one option. If you manage several Facebook Business Pages, then select the correct one from the dropdown menu.
